James Suckling (96)
Very attractive aromas of meat, spice and blue fruits with cloves and black pepper. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that are silky and polished. Lovely aftertaste with plenty going on. Drinkable but better in two to three years.
Vinous (95)
The 2020 Suisassi is bursting with fresh blueberry, lavender, mint, spice, black pepper, cloves and incense. This brisk, vibrant Syrah is quite charming. The mid-weight, intensely savory style offers tons of freshness, a rarity on the Tuscan coast.
Falstaff (95)
Bright ruby red colour. Wonderfully fragrant floral nose of fresh violets, juicy cherries, rose hip, blood oranges, elderberries and dried maquis echo. Very polished with cool fruit on the tongue, in addition very juicy on the palate, with youthful, grippy tannins, floral and punchy, with currently still somewhat youthful tannin.
