The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin Clos du Château is matured entirely in used oak. It has a lovely, pretty, fruit-driven bouquet with lifted pure strawberry and Morello cherry scents, airy in style. The palate has a candied quality on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with tart red fruit defining the slightly abrupt finish that should gain flesh after bottling.
