Instead of the usual 1 x 500 litre cask, Pierre has made two standard barrels in 2021, one each from Allier wood (rounder wine) and Troncais (more structured). My sample was taken half and half from the two barrels. Mid lemon colour, with an impressive weight of fruit, optimum ripeness, a little citrus and banana, quite complex, grand cru intensity. Incisive on the palate, lemon meringue, fine tension, and persistence. This is close to 5 star quality.
