Vinous (91)
The 1960 Rivesaltes has a showstopping nose of liquorice, aniseed and peppermint. Compared to the 1964 and 1965, it kind of veers away from the Rivesaltes style. The palate is better, with a viscous opening that lacquers the mouth and notes of marmalade and Chinese five-spice. It gains body towards the persistent finis. This is a sophisticated Rivesaltes.
