Robert Parker (90)
The 1946 Château Mossé, predominantly Grenache Noir, has a punchy, almost Terrantez-scented bouquet that is very well-defined: dried orange peel, smoked walnut and a touch of ginger. The palate is well-balanced, quite understated on the entry, very smooth but quite light and airy towards the pleasantly oxidative finish. This is a delicious, cerebral Rivesaltes courtesy of Philippe Gayral.
BOW (8)
A 1946 which tastes like a 1990 Rivesaltes. What a surprise.
