: The 2018 Primitivo Ipnotico is a deep, dark purple color in the glass. It lulls you in with a delicately spiced and floral bouquet of violets, roses and wet stone, before moving on to bassy notes of plum sauce and smoke. This is classy and elegant in feel, with silky textures motivated by a sweet-and-sour tug of ripe and then tart red berries and mineral tones. It tapers off lightly structured yet with mouthwatering freshness, complicating its youthful restraint as inner florals, notes of dark chocolate and dried cherries slowly fade. This young Primitivo still has a lot more to say, but it will require a bit of cellaring to fully express itself.

It starts with the flavour and bouquet of the red fruits typical of the Mediterranean scrub, tree-ripened and sour cherries, prunes and ripe pomegranate, sweet and bitter chocolate. Full-bodied and persistent, each sip brings an exquisite joy, with a finish that evokes unexplored thoughts and emotions.
