Robert Parker (90)
A blend of of 86% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc, aging in 20% new barriques, the 2019 Goulée by Cos d’Estournel (13.53% alcohol) has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and leaps from the glass with vivacious scents of ripe red and black plums, black cherries and mulberries with touches of spice cake, violets and star anise. Medium-bodied, the palate has bags of energetic black berry flavors with a rugged frame of chewy tannins and loads of freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.
James Suckling (92)
This is a rich and intense G with lots of dried berries and chocolate. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins that nicely frame the wine nicely. Drinkable now, but can age well.
