A strong effort, the 1984 Vieux-Telegraphe is deep in color, loaded with spicy, peppery, berry fruit, quite full-bodied for the vintage, but more elegant and significantly less alcoholic than the full-throttle 1985.
Winespectator (89)
Fruity, but not as spicy as you might expect, with lots of stewed plum, che rry and raspberry fruit, fleshy and slightly tannic. A wine with breed, depth and great length.
