Zenato’s 2005 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a rich, powerful wine. Not for the timid, this massively constituted Amarone offers up sweet red cherries, leather, tobacco, tar and spices, all of which flow through to the long finish. Despite the wine’s impressive concentration, a measure of elegance seems missing in this vintage.
