The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village is from vines tucked just behind the family maison. The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village has a crisp, quite detailed bouquet that is tight at first but opens nicely in the glass. Even for a village cru there is fine mineralité here. The palate is tensile on the entry with a pastille like purity — tart red cherries, fresh if not exuding immense depth towards the finish. Just pure Pinot Noir — no more, no less.

Sweet fruit, milk chocolate and a pleasant herby touch. Not heavyweight, but with lots of persistence and floral expression on the finish.
