Domaine Dominique Cornin • Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières – 2021
The king of the cellar chez Cornin is the 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Les Chevrières, a lovely wine redolent of stone fruits, orange zest, pear, musky spices, flowers and honey, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and satiny palate that’s lively, seamless and complete. Spared by both frost and hail, it’s a great success.

Fevre, William • Chablis Beauroy 1er cru – 2021
This is ripe enough to have elusive suggestions of exotic fruit on the white peach, maritime and quinine. There is excellent mid-palate density to the rich, delicious and solidly intense middleweight flavors that conclude in an agreeably dry and again, very saline-suffused finish. This will need to add depth to achieve the upper end of my projected range, but it could well do that.

From the northern tip of Burgundy the William Fevre Chablis Beauroy and from the southern tip of Burgundy the Domaine Dominique Cornin the Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières.
Both from 1cru vineyards and both showcasing the beautiful finesse of the terroirs that they are from.
