Jancis Robinson (17)
Fermented and aged in oak. Tank sample.
Subtle, spicy oak on the nose. Intense, really concentrated, the acidity just balanced by the flavour and rounded texture of the oak. Unusually intense in this vintage. Powerful, taut, long. A coiled spring that needs time.
Jasper Morris (90)
The blend in tank, racked in July and assembled in August. Pale lemon yellow, an immediate juicy and fleshy lemon fruit, not peachy, builds on the palate, less acidity this year, with a good clean finkish that extends quite a way back. Far from dilute! Accessible early, will keep.
