Note: Due to space limitations, no tasting notes have been included, only my qualitative score. Obviously, the 2001 dry whites are extremely long-lived wines. They can be drunk young or cellared for 20-30+ years. I recently had the pleasure of tasting the 1962 Domaine de Chevalier, which was still incredibly fresh and lively. In many ways, these whites age even more slowly than red Bordeaux.

Very minerally, with lemon and vanilla. Very aromatic. Full-bodied, with loads of fruit, with a wild fruit and lemon finish. A beauty.

Quite rich. Quite brutal Sauvignon Blanc and oak on the nose. Sleek and powerful. Very concentrated with something menthol on the nose. Full and punchy. (JR)
Vinous (91)
Pungent, pure aromas of melon, quinine, ginger and mint, with a kiss of oak spice. Offers wonderful density and richness but also terrific cut, with highly complex flavors of pineapple, citrus fruits and exotic spices. Finishes very long, spicy and vibrant. A highly concentrated wine from a yield of less than 30 hectoliters per hectare. It’s hard to believe that this is all sauvignon blanc.
