Robert Parker (89)
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Palermo is assembled from vineyards in Pope Valley and Coombsville, among others, supplemented by bits of Merlot, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Subtle cedar notes accent cassis and cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is supple and softly dusty in feel, then turns a bit tart and thins out on the finish, adding hints of bitter cocoa.
James Suckling (89)
A nicely focused version, with cassis and bitter plum puree supported by a graphite spine, which is well-buried in the fruit. A judicious apple wood frame lets the fruit play out, with a late hint of chaparral.
