This expressive Cab leads with bramble, bay leaf and violet notes, with a core of dark currant and blackberry paste following closely. A tarry, charcoal-edged underpinning on the finish gives this an old-school edge.

This is beautiful and very open with blackberry, currant and walnut character. Some fresh flowers, too. It’s full and flavorful, creamy and velvety. Fresh at the end. Hard not to drink now.

The 2018 Matriarch is plush, sensual and enveloping. Succulent black cherry, plum and spice fill out the layers nicely in this enshrouding Cabernet. The 2018 possesses remarkable depth and exceptional balance. It’s an absolute delight to taste today, and also a terrific introduction to the Bond range.
