There’s no Gallimardes in 2023, but Giraud did make a Grenaches des Pierre. Coming from three separate parcels of sandy soils (Pignan, Charbonnière, and La Crau) and brought up all in concrete, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Grenaches De Pierre sports a medium ruby hue to go with a gorgeous bouquet of sweet red and black fruits, ground pepper, violets, and complex, orange and incense notes. With medium to full-bodied richness, it’s beautifully balanced and has ripe tannins and outstanding length.
