Robert Parker (93)
The 1936 Rivesaltes has the appearance of mature Verdelho Madeira. It has a very oxidative bouquet with touches of adhesive, eau-de-vie, sea foam and smoke. It opens nicely with aeration, gaining intensity with every moment. The palate is medium-bodied with almost a candied, pastille-like element on the entry: quince, dried honey and rose water. It is very harmonious and composed with a twist of bitter orange and Clementine on the spicy finish. Excellent. Tasted December 2012.
