Bright berries and a hint of pomegranate, together with damp chalk and some fern. Medium-bodied with a tight, focused palate and firm, light-grained tannins. Quite a racy feel to this now. Should broaden out with another couple of years in bottle.

Falstaff (94)
Bright garnet red with ruby red reflections. Initially restrained on the nose, then with rich raspberry and white pepper, the aftertaste is fleshy and with ripe pomegranate, has a balsamic effect. On the palate with precise fruit, complex, with fine-grained tannins, fresh and mineral, long finish, is only at the beginning of its development, needs a lot of air.
